Shane Black Will Direct Iron Man 3

It's official! Iron Man 3 has a director. Shane Black will take on the directing role for the upcoming film, replacing Jon Favreau. We actually reported this a while back but it wasn't confirmed until today. Although Black is also a writer, it is unknown if he will be handling the script. Black, most well known for the Lethal Weapon series, and for Robert Downey Jr.’s comeback kick-start, aka Kiss Kiss Bang Bang, is a fantastic choice. He is considered by most to be a pioneer screenwriter in the action genre.

Black has worked with Downey Jr. before and he got a fantastic performance out of him in Kiss Kiss Bang Bang. The film itself was also quite good. So it makes sense that the two would team up again. I personally am very excited about this and I’m really eager to see what Black does with the film.

What do you think? Can Shane Black turn the franchise around after the letdown that was Iron Man 2?
