Proving that carefully crafted cameos needn’t be exclusive to the world of comic book movies, it seems Solo: A Star Wars Story will herald the return of Anthony Daniels as C-3PO after all.

Mark Hamill let slip that Daniels has booked his place for Solo while appearing on the Cape Up with Jonathan Capehart podcast (h/t Star Wars News Net), though as Hamill so rightly points out, it’s not all that surprising to learn of C-3PO’s involvement, given the goofy droid – a droid with a big heart and an even bigger mouth – has appeared in every single Star Wars movie to date.

The exact details of said cameo remain under wraps – for instance, will it be a blink-and-you’ll-miss-it shot a la Rogue One? – but if nothing else, fans can rest assured that Alden Ehrenreich’s young Solo will be sharing the screen with one of the franchise’s most iconic droids.

“[Anthony] Daniels was so happy, ’cause he’s in every single Star Wars movie,” said Hamill. “Every single one. All the Prequels, he’s in Rogue One, he’s in Solo… Whoops! I hope that’s not, erm… But anyway, he’s in Every. Single. Star Wars movie. That’s not such a reveal, all Star Wars fans expect him to be in every movie.”

And just like Han and Chewie, surely C-3PO’s involvement can be interpreted as a sure-fire sign that R2-D2 is also a part of Solo: A Star Wars Story? Lucasfilm is remaining mum for now, but we’ll update this story if and when the situation changes.

Solo: A Star Wars Story punches it all the way into theaters on May 25th. And it’s already tracking for a suitably huge opening weekend in North America – think biggest Memorial Day debut in history.
