Spoiler-y LEGO Set For Solo: A Star Wars Story Revealed

The $169.99 Kessel Run Millennium Falcon LEGO set for Solo: A Star Wars Story is a thing of beauty. And it may allude to one or two story clues.

With each new entry in the Star Wars franchise comes an abundance of LEGO collectibles. And Solo: A Star Wars Story is no different.

Three months out from release, the toy giant has premiered its first official set inspired by the colorful characters of Ron Howard’s anthology pic: the Kessel Run Millennium Falcon set. Priced at $169.99 and touting more than 1,400 pieces, the LEGO package includes miniature figures of Alden Ehrenreich’s young Han Solo, Chewbacca, Lando Calrissian (Donald Glover), Qi’ra (Emilia Clarke), and a Kessel droid, along with two other Solo characters whose identities are being kept in the dark.

Chances are they’ll filter into the story in some capacity, though Disney is clearly playing its cards close to the vest. If nothing else, it’s another opportunity to marvel at the redesigned Millennium Falcon, which appears to be much sleeker than the one introduced in A New Hope over 40 years ago.

And though it almost goes without saying, surely this lends credence to those rumors that Solo: A Star Wars Story will pay a visit to the salt mines of Kessel on May 25th? We’ll find out soon enough.

Meanwhile, here’s the official description, courtesy of LEGO:

Outsmart the villainous overseers and escape the Kessel Mines aboard the amazing Millennium Falcon! Pull amazing maneuvers from the cockpit. Jump in the laser turrets and fire back at pursuing craft. Then check the hyperdrive and get ready to jump to safety! After all that excitement, kick back with Han and his friends with a drink from the bar, while you let Chewbacca win at Dejarik. Then it’s off to bed for a well-earned snooze in the bunk aboard the fastest ship in the galaxy!

It’s the fourth installment in Lucasfilm’s rebooted franchise, and after the mixed reaction to The Last Jedi – online, at least – there’s a particular weight of expectation resting on the young shoulders of Solo: A Star Wars Story. No pressure, then.
