Star Wars: Episode IX Said To Feature Many Uncredited Cameos

Between Original Trilogy players like Leia and Lando, younger stars like Rey and Kylo, and new cast members like Richard E. Grant and Keri Russell, it looks like Star Wars: Episode IX is having to juggle an overwhelming array of characters. But according a new Reddit report that’s been getting a fair amount of attention lately, the list of noteworthy names involved in the upcoming film may extended well beyond the list we’ve already seen.

Reddit user Arcantiger has relayed the claim that J.J. Abrams’ trilogy-closer will include “many uncredited cameos,” some of which are “just fun” and others of which are “very meaningful.” In particular, it’s said that one important cameo was filmed with Kylo Ren actor Adam Driver.

Though these claims have yet to be confirmed, they still give us a fair amount to think about. Could one of these uncredited cameos go to Matt Smith, who recently denied being involved in the film despite some very plausible reports to the contrary? Could the old rumors of an Obi-Wan or Anakin/Vader cameo have it right? Only time will tell.

While we wait for answers, the report also offers a few more intriguing, if unverified, claims. For one thing, it’s said that the film features “more deaths than you would expect,” including some that fans may not be predicting. Though the post stops short of offering any examples, we can probably assume that they’re hinting at someone on the Resistance side dying, be it one of the younger heroes like Finn or Rey, or one of the few surviving Original Trilogy stars like C-3PO or Chewbacca.

All will be revealed when Star Wars: Episode IX hits theaters on December 20th, 2019, but in the meantime, here’s hoping that next month’s Star Wars Celebration can at least offer a little footage.
