J.J. Abrams’ return to the galaxy far, far away just can’t stop breaking records. The other day we found out that Star Wars: The Force Awakens had the best Monday in history after taking in over $30 million and surpassing the $27.7 million record held by Spider-Man 2 since 2004.

Now, reports are coming in that the space adventure has dominated another day of the week by amassing a most impressive $37.3 million and taking the title of best ever Tuesday earner from, you guessed it, another Spidey flick. Sony’s reboot, The Amazing Spider-Man, took in $35M on July 3, 2012 – but that wasn’t quite enough to keep the Force at bay.

The seemingly unstoppable box office dominance of The Force Awakens has many analysts predicting that it might actually do the unimaginable and topple James Cameron’s Avatar to become the most lucrative movie of all time. It has a long way to go before that can be made official of course, but there’s no denying that it’d be a fairly safe bet if it continues to have legs.
