Take this one with a fairly large grain of salt, but Making Star Wars is reporting that the first Star Wars spinoff film will shoot at Pinewood Studios, meaning that it will overlap a bit with the production of Star Wars: Episode VIII. Here’s where it gets interesting, though. They go on to say that the film will revolve around Han Solo, and apparently, Aaron Paul is currently attached to one of the lead roles.
Of course, none of this has been confirmed by any official sources and as of now, it only exists as a rumor. In fact, a report from /Film a while back actually noted that the spinoff WOULD NOT revolve around Han Solo, so who knows what’s really going on here. For now, the only things we can be sure of are that the film will be directed by Gareth Edwards (Godzilla) and written by Gary Whitta (After Earth), and it will arrive in theatres on December 16th, 2016.
