Stranger Things took everyone by surprise when it debuted on Netflix last year. A hit with critics and viewers alike, it took no time at all for the series to receive a second season, and something everyone could agree on was that the future looked bright for breakout star Mille Bobby Brown. As Eleven, she made a huge impact as the super-powered youngster, so it should probably come as no surprise then to learn that she’s landed her first film role in Godzilla: King of the Monsters.

The sequel to Gareth Edwards’ 2014 movie will be directed by Krampus‘ Michael Dougherty (he also wrote the screenplay alongside Zach Shields). Pegged for release on March 22nd, 2019, it’s set in the same world as Kong: Skull Island and is expected to lead directly into Godzilla vs. King Kong. Suffice to say, even though the first flick wasn’t that well received, Warner Bros. still has big plans for the franchise.

As of now, we know very little about Godzilla: King of the Monsters, but the addition of Brown is certainly exciting. Character details haven’t been divulged, but common sense says that she’ll be playing the daughter of one of the adult leads. How exactly she factors into the story remains to be seen, though the casting process is clearly beginning to heat up now so we should learn more shortly. If one thing’s for certain, it’s that no matter how big or small her role may be, having the actress on board can only be a good thing.

Tell us, what do you think of this latest casting addition to Godzilla: King of the Monsters? Are you happy to see Brown grab a high profile part like this? Sound off below with your thoughts!
