According to Deadline, Warner Bros.’ upcoming Suicide Squad is currently the most talked about film on social media, which probably shouldn’t come as too much of a surprise given the aggressive marketing campaign that the studio has been rolling out as of late.

The metric is measured by ComScore’s PreAct, where Suicide Squad generated 66k social media conversations last week, bringing its total PreAct convos to a staggering 1.3 million. That means it’s beating out some other fairly heavy hitters like Rogue One A Star Wars Story, Ghostbusters and Star Trek Beyond. Again, not surprising given the vast amount of positive buzz surrounding the film.

Trailers, TV spots, posters, photos – we’ve seen it all at this point, and with less than two months to go now before Suicide Squad makes its grand entrance in theatres, we’re more than ready for David Ayer’s explosive, 130 minute adaptation. All signs point to it being one of 2016’s very best films, but with so much hype circling around the next DC Comics adaptation, is there a chance it may not live up to expectations? Time will tell, I guess.

Starring Will Smith, Jared Leto, Margot Robbie, Joel Kinnaman, Jai Courtney, Cara Delevingne, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje Viola Davis, Ben Affleck and a number of others, Suicide Squad is set to be released on August 5th.
