Tarsem Singh’s Immortals Trailer

Ok, I'm still not sold. Earlier today we saw a bootleg version of the Immortals trailer and tonight we have the real deal. As I mentioned this morning though, it looks like a lot like 300 but not nearly as good. Our new Superman, Henry Cavill, leads a cast that includes Mickey Rourke, Freida Pinto, Stephen Dorff, Luke Evans, John Hurt, and Kellan Lutz. Good enough cast but the movie just doesn't interest me. The $100 million epic is gaining buzz mainly because of Cavill but I will admit, Singh is a very interesting director though, especially visually and I'll likely see the film for him alone.

Ok, I’m still not sold.

Good enough cast but the movie just doesn’t interest me. The $100 million epic is gaining buzz mainly because of Cavill but I will admit, Singh is a very interesting director, especially visually. I’ll likely see the film for him alone. Going off the trailer though, I’m not feeling this one. Check out the plot summary and trailer below.

Eons after the Gods won their mythic struggle against the Titans, a new evil threatens the land. Mad with power, King Hyperion (Mickey Rourke) has declared war against humanity. Amassing a bloodthirsty army of soldiers disfigured by his own hand, Hyperion has scorched Greece in search of the legendary Epirus Bow, a weapon of unimaginable power forged in the heavens by Ares.

Secretly chosen by Zeus, Theseus must save his people from Hyperion and his hordes. Rallying a band of fellow outsiders–including visionary priestess Phaedra (Freida Pinto) and cunning slave Stavros (Stephen Dorff) — one hero will lead the uprising, or watch his homeland fall into ruin and his Gods vanish into legend.
