Tessa Thompson Teases That Avengers: Infinity War Is Just The Beginning

If you thought Avengers: Infinity War was special, just wait, as actress Tess Thompson has teased that it's just the beginning.

Avengers: Infinity War was kept so tightly under wraps by Marvel that even the stars of the MCU had to wait to see it until it came into cinemas like us normal folk. That includes Thor: Ragnarok‘s Tessa Thompson. Now that she’s caught it, though, the actress has shared her glowing thoughts on the blockbuster on Twitter, and gave an intriguing tease for what’s to come in next year’s Avengers 4.

Taking to the social media platform, here’s what she said:

“Just saw Infinity WAR (Finally). Oh my goodness, holy wow, I would say you’ve outdone yourselves @MarvelStudios + @Russo_Brothers.. but I know it’s just the beginning.”

The last time we saw Thompson’s Asgardian warrior Valkyrie was at the end of Ragnarok, on board the refugee ship that carried Thor’s people. Infinity War left things vague about her fate, however, as the film opened with Thanos destroying the vessel, though Valkyrie was nowhere to be seen. Still, fans hoped that she had somehow survived and thankfully, co-director Joe Russo later hinted that the character may have gotten away in an escape pod.

But what does Thompson mean that she knows this film is just the beginning? Well, though it hasn’t been officially confirmed, all signs point to the actress playing a part in the fourth Avengers flick. For one, she was definitely on set to pitch that much talked about all-female team-up movie to Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige, while she’s also spoken about the pic as if she was part of it.

After seeing Avengers: Infinity War, we can even begin to picture how Valkyrie might fit into Avengers 4‘s storyline. With the team’s line-up seriously depleted by Thanos’ snap of doom at the end of the movie, they’ll need to replenish their ranks in order to take him on again and reverse the horror he’s wrought. And so, as well as the likes of Hawkeye, Ant-Man and the Wasp, Valkyrie would certainly be another useful ally for them to recruit.
