Following the latest allegations being leveled at Jonathan Majors, the entire industry is waiting with bated breath to see how Marvel Studios reacts to the developments.
After all, the comic book conglomerate has maintained complete and total radio silence ever since the initial assault accusation was made against the Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania star, but it’s looking increasingly likely that Kevin Feige will be left with no other choice but to cut ties with the Multiverse Saga’s big bad.
The franchise had already unwittingly painted itself into a corner after establishing in canon that every version of Kang the Conqueror was played by Majors, which would require a massive overhaul of the mythology given that he’s the titular villain of the fifth Avengers epic and the end-of-level boss for years worth of storytelling.
Following the most recent bombshells to drop, fans were left stunned to discover that a Marvel employee who’d worked with Majors on Quantumania was one of those coming forward, which has surely left the company with no other choice. As per Variety‘s initial report, “Disney has the added wrinkle in that the alleged victim in the Manhattan incident also worked on this year’s Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania,” which further ties the situation to the studio.
As sad as it is to say, whenever this sort of story breaks around a high-profile figure, there are inevitably many more who come out of the woodwork with their own experiences shortly after. If someone on the Marvel payroll was involved in any kind of altercation with Majors, then there’s no way the end result can be anything other than a termination of his contract.
It’s been a day a lot of people have been expecting to arrive sooner rather than later, and it might just be right on the horizon.
