While the jury is still ruminating on a possible conclusion, Paramount has went ahead and debuted an explosive new poster for Genisys, which places said surprise front and center.

Still with us? Great! Long before Genisys began raising eyebrows across the four corners of the industry, Paramount made it explicitly clear that its vision for the future of the franchise would act as a hard reset. And though this doesn’t necessarily involve a retcon, the studio’s revised take will see Jason Clarke’s John Connor, purported savior of mankind and leader of the resistance, become a cyborg, one sent from yet another timeline in which the line between man and machine is effectively eradicated. In Alan Taylor’s soon-to-be-released blockbuster, the mythos has undeniably been rewritten.

Emilia Clarke, Jai Courtney and Arnold Schwarzenegger also star in the actioner, and Paramount will hope to instigate a whole new trilogy when Terminator: Genisys lands on July 1. For now, you can glimpse the new poster in question down below.
