The Disney Plus series ended with Tom Hiddleston’s title hero discovering that Sylvie had kicked him into the wrong reality, with a huge Kang statue now towering over TVA headquarters, and his new best buddy and jet ski enthusiast Mobius had no idea who he even was. Audiences have so many questions that need answered, so it was a little surprising that one of the many things trending in the aftermath of Loki was Tobey Maguire.

Admittedly, it’s not all that shocking really when MCU supporters have been waiting on tenterhooks for confirmation that Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man will be returning alongside Andrew Garfield in December’s No Way Home, but the 46 year-old was one of the hottest topics of conversation once the doors to the multiverse were officially open, as you can see from the reactions below.

We’re still waiting on that first Spider-Man: No Way Home trailer, with fans working themselves up into a frenzy over nothing on more than one occasion already, but it shouldn’t realistically be too far away, especially with Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings and Eternals coming to theaters in September and November, respectively.

Whether it confirms Maguire and Garfield’s returns or not is entirely up for debate, but Loki definitely set the stage for both the next Spidey blockbuster and the rest of Phase Four in spectacular fashion.
