The long awaited trailer for Tim Burton‘s Dark Shadows has finally been released. It premiered earlier today on Ellen and personally, I love it.
The film, which stars Johnny Depp as vampire Barnabas Collins, is an adaptation of the 1960’s television show of the same name and it was written by Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter scribe Seth Grahame-Smith.
I love when Burton and Depp work together on a film, especially one with such an amazing supporting cast. For many fans of the dynamic duo, this film is long awaited as the two have been discussing it since they worked together on Sweeney Todd.
The trailer has Burton’s signature “darkness” and even from this low resolution version, the sets and costumes look amazing as usual. We also get some witty comedy which seems to work quite well.
Dark Shadows stars Johnny Depp, Michelle Pfeiffer, Helena Bonham Carter, Eva Green, Jackie Earle Haley, Jonny Lee Miller, Bella Heathcote, Chloe Moretz and Gulliver McGrath, and will be in cinemas on May 11th, 2012.
