Underworld: Awakening Trailer

The first trailer for Underworld: Awakening has been released today. I actually just watched the first three films in the series not too long ago and honestly, they're really not that bad. Opening on January 20th in 3D, the film sees Kate Beckinsale reprising the role of Selene as she gets caught up in more vampire vs. werewolf action.

The first trailer for Underworld: Awakening has been released today. I actually just watched the first three films in the series not too long ago and honestly, they’re really not that bad. Opening on January 20th in 3D, the film sees Kate Beckinsale reprising the role of Selene as she gets caught up in more vampire vs. werewolf action.

Swedish duo Mans Marlind and Bjorn Stein take the icy blue tint a bit too far, as seen in the trailer, but other than that, the film looks fine. It will follow the events of the second film, Underworld: Evolution and really, if you’ve enjoyed the series up until now, there’s no reason to miss out on this one.

Selene looks as badass as ever, the stylized fighting is back and the excessive slow-mo looks to make a return as well. Really, this is just more of the same but when it comes to the Underworld series, that’s not necessarily a bad thing.

I’m not expecting anything great from Underworld: Awakening but I’ll certainly be in theatres to see it.

“Kate Beckinsale, star of the first two films, returns in her lead role as the vampire warrioress Selene, who escapes imprisonment to find herself in a world where humans have discovered the existence of both Vampire and Lycan clans, and are conducting an all-out war to eradicate both immortal species.
