Looks like Peter Parker may well be paying a visit to the nefarious Life Foundation come October.

At least, that’s according to Screen Rant. Citing sources familiar with production, the outlet contends that Parker’s alleged Venom cameo will involve a school trip to the West Coast, where Tom Holland’s wall-crawler will be given a tour of the Life Foundation by Carlton Drake, the corporate shill (and villain!) to be played by Riz Ahmed.

There’s no tangible evidence to support Screen Rant’s claims – no pictures, no video, nada – which makes us question the veracity of this report. To their credit though, Peter Parker’s cameo was allegedly filmed on a private property in San Francisco, which makes this near-impossible to certify one way or another.

With that said, Tom Holland has been linked with Sony and Ruben Fleischer’s Venom spinoff ever since it was first announced, and though it’ll certainly raise continuity issues for both the Marvel Cinematic Universe and Sony’s own fledgling franchise, including Peter Parker in the picture – even if it is just a blink-and-you’ll-miss-it cameo – is a smart way to remind viewers that this is the beginning of a Spider-Man-themed series.

It’ll primarily focus on the villains, mind you, what with Silver & Black and a film dedicated to Morbius, the Living Vampire also cramming up the pipeline. Our advice? Take this one with a pinch of salt, as Tom Holland currently has his hands full with Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers 4, not to mention Sony’s embryonic adaptation of the Uncharted series, which will see him play a younger version of the swashbuckling Nathan Drake.

And as for Venom? All will be revealed on October 5th.
