Vin Diesel Confirms Kurt Russell In Fast & Furious 7

Kurt Russell has been known to go fast. He played the main character in Tarantino's oft-lambasted Grindhouse feature Death Proof, and seemed to enjoy himself a great deal there. For awhile now a rumor has circulated that Russell would appear in Fast & Furious 7, where he would again go rather fast. That's an unconfirmed rumor up until right now, as Vin Diesel recently posted a photo on his Facebook page showing Russell on the set.

Kurt Russell has been known to go fast. He played the main character in Tarantino’s oft-lambasted Grindhouse feature Death Proof, and seemed to enjoy himself a great deal there. For awhile now a rumor has circulated that Russell would appear in Fast & Furious 7, where he would again go rather fast. That’s an unconfirmed rumor up until right now, as Vin Diesel recently posted a photo on his Facebook page showing Russell on the set.

Russell has been rumored to play the part of Jesse’s father, whom you might rember from way way back in the first film. Jesse was a computer nerd and street racer killed by a drive-by shooting at Dom’s (Vin Diesel) house. There’s been unofficial buzz that Russell will be one of the villains in Fast & Furious 7.

Most of the crew, including Vin Diesel and Paul Walker, are back for Fast & Furious 7, with Jason Statham taking on the role of lead baddie as the brother of Shaw (Luke Evans), the villain from the last film. We know that Tony Jaa, Djimon Housou and, it appears, Kurt Russell are also joining the cast. Chris Morgan wrote the script and James Wan (Insidious, The Conjuring) gets the behind the camera on this one.

Beyond that we’ve had no real indication of the plot-line for this film, but are we really concerned about the plot? We’re looking for fast cars, pimped rides and some awesome action sequences, all wrapped up in a little bit of family and friends melodrama. I have no doubt that we’ll get that in Fast & Furious 7.

You can check out Vin Diesel’s Facebook pic of Kurt Russell below and let us know what you think about the cast addition in the comments. Will Kurt Russell fit right in with the Toretto clan?

Fast & Furious 7 comes to theatres July 11, 2014.
