Wade Wilson Pops The Question In Latest Clip For Deadpool

Wade Wilson has a surprise up his, er, sleeve for Vanessa Carlysle in today’s latest clip for Deadpool, offering a fresh peek at an intimate scene from the movie ahead of its much-anticipated debut in only a few weeks’ time.

While the more recent promos for 20th Century Fox’s imminent superhero flick have focused on the towering Colossus and the Merc With a Mouth himself taking the piss out of Australian Day, the studio’s latest clip in a long line of teasers sheds light on the central relationship between Ryan Reynolds and Morena Baccarin’s besotted couple.

Of course, we imagine that the footage is from much earlier in Tim Miller’s Deadpool film, long before Wade is diagnosed with terminal cancer and undergoes the gruelling ‘healing’ process that imbues him with superhuman abilities. A welcome change of pace, then, though we’re hoping that Fox doesn’t reveal much more from Miller’s movie now that we’re on the verge of its arrival.

Also starring T.J. Miller, Ed Skrein, Gina Carano, and Brianna Hildebrand, Deadpool will put paid to Valentine’s Day plans across the country when Ryan Reynolds dons the blood-red suit in time for February 12.

Based upon Marvel Comics’ most unconventional anti-hero, Deadpool tells the origin story of former Special Forces operative turned mercenary Wade Wilson, who after being subjected to a rogue experiment that leaves him with accelerated healing powers, adopts the alter ego Deadpool. Armed with his new abilities and a dark, twisted sense of humor, Deadpool hunts down the man who nearly destroyed his life.
