Earlier today, a new promotional image was released for the upcoming Superman film Man of Steel, which can be seen below.

Much like previous Superman films, the story revolves around a child sent to Earth from his dying planet, Krypton. Upon arriving, the Kents embrace Kal-El, later to be renamed Clark, as their own son. Over time, Clark realizes he has superhuman powers and the abilities, but struggles to understand why. However, when the world is threatened Clark realizes his job is to protect his new home from all evil forces.

Henry Cavill will be playing the man of steel this go around and Amy Adams will be portraying the sassy news journalist Lois Lane. They will be joined by top talent like Kevin Costner, Diane Lane and Michael Shannon, among others.

Based on the cast alone, the film seems quite promising. That being said, it’s a bit hard to tell how this one will turn out as the production has been kept heavily under wraps and we really haven’t see a whole lot from the film. Until a trailer pops up, we can only hope that it’s better than the horrid Superman Returns.

Man of Steel is set to arrive in theaters on June 14, 2013. Check out the new promo image below.
