Watch A Third Trailer For The Amazing Spider-Man 2

One of the most anticipated films of the year is The Amazing Spider-Man 2, director Marc Webb's follow-up to his successful 2012 reboot starring Andrew Garfield as your friendly neighbourhood webslinger. A new trailer has just hit the web and though it's not quite as in-depth as the 4-minute "sizzle" trailer released during the Super Bowl, it does offer our most complete look at the sequel yet, blending bits of the previous trailers while giving us a few snippets of new footage and dialogue.

“You know what it is I love about being Spider-Man? Everything.”

One of the most anticipated films of the year is The Amazing Spider-Man 2, director Marc Webb’s follow-up to his successful 2012 reboot starring Andrew Garfield as your friendly neighbourhood webslinger. A new trailer has just hit the web and though it’s not quite as in-depth as the 4-minute “sizzle” trailer released during the Super Bowl, it does offer our most complete look at the sequel yet, blending bits of the previous trailers while giving us a few snippets of new footage and dialogue.

As I said, it’s not mind-blowing by any means, and is mostly comprised of things we’ve already seen, but it does a great job of showing off the many different aspects (and villains) of the film, including its humor and tension. From everything we’ve seen about the movie thus far, it’s clear that Marc Webb has upped the ante this time around.

The Amazing Spider-Man 2 looks more sleek, the color palette has been brightened and Peter has a lot on his plate: from his relationship with Gwen Stacy, hiding his super-powered exploits from his Aunt May, finding out more about his parents and of course, battling the likes of Rhino, Electro, and The Green Goblin.

One of the most important things about the film is that Peter loves being Spider-Man. In Sam Raimi’s trilogy, Peter kept referring to the gig as a curse, constantly struggling with how it derailed his personal life. It’s refreshing to see a superhero who actually wants to dress up and save people, and I’m interested to see what kind of arc Webb makes him go through.

The Amazing Spider-Man 2 hits theaters on May 2nd.
