Watch Avengers: Endgame Star Brie Larson Threaten Josh Brolin

Ever since the post-credits of Avengers: Infinity War teased the arrival of Captain Marvel, it’s been widely assumed that Carol Danvers will be a key player in turning the tide against Thanos. And with the release of Avengers: Endgame fast approaching, Brie Larson has now issued a warning to the MCU’s greatest villain.

The Captain Marvel star was attending a recent press conference when she was asked if she’d had any experiences with Josh Brolin “on-set or off-set.” Rather than falling into the spoiler trap set by this question, Larson took the opportunity to hype up the coming fight:

“I don’t know, but I do think he should be scared.”

Though Larson has been careful to avoid giving anything away here, the MCU’s most powerful hero seems as determined as anyone to take on the Mad Titan. In a clip released last week, for instance, Carol shares a scene with the Avengers where they plot to track down Thanos, steal the Infinity Gauntlet and reverse the snap. And while Bruce Banner and James Rhodes both seem anxious about taking on the tyrant after last year’s defeat, Carol insists that things will go better this time, now that she’s on their side.

Seeing how next week’s release is over 3 hours long, it’s probably safe to assume that the team’s plan won’t go as smoothly as Larson’s character seems to think. That being said, details on Carol’s arc are still in short supply, though it’s expected that Avengers: Endgame will see the heroine claim her place at the forefront of the MCU, as various Phase 1 heroes drop out of the saga. We’ll find out who’s still left to help Captain Marvel carry the torch when the film hits theaters on April 26th.
