Unquestionably one of the hardest working men in Hollywood, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson took time out of his incredibly busy schedule to send Marvel Cinematic Universe star, Chris Hemsworth, a unique birthday greeting this weekend.
For those of you who don’t know, yesterday was the natal day of none other than Thor himself, Chris Hemsworth. And although he received quite the gift from his Avengers: Infinity War co-star, Josh Brolin, in the form of an utterly disjointed serenade, apparently the onslaught of tone-deaf divertimento was just beginning.
Late Saturday evening, Dwayne Johnson posted the below video to his official Instagram account, during which the Hayward, California native not only sent Chris Hemsworth “some birthday love,” but composed and sung a very touching tribute to his Australian brother.
And just in case you misheard the stony-hearted stanza, here it is: “Happy Birthday to Thor / You Australian man whore / You’re the greatest Chris, and that’s a fact / Behind Evans, Pine and Pratt.”
If I were a betting man, I’d wager a majority of the Star Trek 4 crew are empathizing with Johnson’s song a little too much right now. After all, Hemsworth and Wonder Woman 1984 star Chris Pine have reportedly abandoned the Enterprise and left Zoe Saldana, Zachary Quinto, Karl Urban, Simon Pegg and John Cho to go boldly where no man’s gone before without a captain.
As for Dwayne Johnson, when he’s not pumping iron, The Rock can currently be found filming Jungle Cruise, a motion picture adaptation based on the Walt Disney Parks and Resorts attraction of the same name. Directed by Jaume Collet-Serra (The Shallows), look for the pic, co-starring Emily Blunt, to release on October 11th, 2019.
