It’s safe to say The Chainsmokers are one of the most hyped acts in music right now. The duo announced a few weeks back that a new EP was on the way and they’ve held true to their promise today, as Collage goes live on Spotify and multiple other streaming services. Featuring five tracks in total, the EP is mostly comprised of previously released singles like “Don’t Let Me Down” and “Closer.” However, we are treated to one new song titled “Setting Fires.”

The EP’s only new offering features some gorgeous topline efforts from XYLØ, serving as another fine example of The Chainsmokers’ signature brand of radio friendly dance music. A catchy plucked melody serves as the lead throughout the song, with reverb drenched string tones and light percussion elements rolling underneath. Moving into the drop, The Chainsmokers infuse chopped up vocal melodies and a steady bassline against an upbeat backdrop.

With some memorable earworm vocals, futuristic trap rhythms and a solid production, “Setting Fires” is another high quality offering from The Chainsmokers, though we are a bit disappointed that the EP only features one new song. That being said, Collage contains the duo’s biggest singles to date, so it’s definitely a good place to start for new fans.
