Pentatonix Announce Christmas Album, Cover Dolly Parton

While most people are attempting to come down from their summer high once September hits, most bands are already planning out their Christmas. For a capella group Pentatonix, they’ll be delivering the holiday cheer this season in the form of a new Christmas album, entitled A Pentatonix Christmas.

A Pentatonix Christmas is expected to arrive everywhere on October 21st, which is totally way before the socially acceptable date to start listening to Christmas music, but Pentatonix are the experts here. They’re no rookies to the holiday music game, as they’ve already come out with two Christmas related releases so far in their brief career. That’s Christmas To Me, which released in 2014, went double platinum and was the highest charting holiday album in the past 40 years. Who knows if A Pentatonix Christmas can live up to that sort of success, but they’re probably planning on surpassing it.

The group also released a video performing Dolly Parton’s “Jolene” alongside the country legend herself, which can be seen above. In the intimate performance setting, Parton sings her hit as the quintet offer their signature harmonies and backing vocals, making it a match made in country heaven.

Before the release of A Pentatonix Christmas, Pentatonix will kick-off the second leg of their headlining tour on October 17th, where their U.S. run will span across the country until November.
