Skylar Grey has premiered the music video for her buzz single Dance Without You. The track, which will be featured on Grey’s upcoming debut album Invinsible, was released on June 7th to mediocre reception.

It’s a dark track and in the video, the theme carries over. We see the rising star battling her inner demons as she finally lets them take over at the end of the clip. It’s fairly cliched and feels like a number of music videos that we’ve already seen in the past, where a mental patient is stuck in an asylum of some sorts.

Personally, while I was a fan of Grey when she was featured on other artist’s tracks like Eminem‘s I Need A Doctor or Diddy Dirty Money‘s I’m Coming Home, I’m not too keen on her solo career just yet. I don’t love Dance Without You and her other track, Invisible, was pretty awful.

Admittedly, I’ll still pick up the album and give Skylar Grey a chance to redeem herself. She has done some excellent work in the past and perhaps the full album will surprise everyone when it drops this fall.
