Considering the bass heavy nature of both Zeds Dead and NGHTMRE’s usual work, fans may be surprised to hear a fairly lightweight affair on “Frontlines.” The new collaboration opens with a plucky bell like sound against a smooth chord progression and GG Magree’s gentle vocal delivery. After an intense build-up, “Frontlines” dives head first into future bass drops with rhythmic, hypnotizing chord flutters, chopped up vocal melodies and grinding trap beats.

Some fans may be disappointed to discover a lack of spastic low end madness on “Frontlines,” but Zeds Dead and NGHTMRE deliver a solid effort as they explore the sonic terrain common to dance music’s latest in vogue style.

“Frontlines” is available now via Deadbeats and can be purchased here.
