Anyone who’s been wishing that W&W would return to trance (or “trouse,” depending on who you ask) has new reason to rejoice. The duo has teamed up with worldwide trance icon Armin Van Buuren on “D# Fat,” a track from which their unmistakeable attitude resonates despite it being considerably tamer than their recent arena-rocking brand of progressive house.

From the very first synth plucks, Armin Van Buuren’s influence on the track is as evident as ever. While the first breakdown showcases some of the chugging bass that most new fans might have come to expect from W&W, the second is where the track’s rough edges really shine through – a dissonant melody accompanies hard bass kicks practically engineered for a festival crowd.

Being that their history as Armada signees extends back to the release of “Mustang” in 2008, it’s only fitting that W&W would eventually join forces with the label head himself, Armin Van Buuren, on a track.
