Bella Ramsey’s character arc on ‘The Last of Us’ could receive a major boost thanks to ⏤ a dog?

The true power behind the scenes at TLOU has been revealed.

If Bella Ramsey starts showing up in even more scenes in The Last of Us you can blame rank favoritism. The young actor apparently has an in with the actual showrunner. No, not creator Craig Mazin, he only cleans up this lady’s messes. The real power behind the scenes is named Skipper — and it looks like she always gets her way.

HBO Max just shared some BTS footage of Mazin and Skipper, thankfully wearing a harness so he doesn’t lash out at any unsuspecting production assistants. He admitted to the camera’s that Skipper, who is a dog, “is the true showrunner” of The Last of Us. “Skipper runs me and tells me what to do,” admitted Mazin, while giving Skipper pets.

“What’s that?” Mazin pretended to hear. “I should put Bella in more scenes?”

Ramsey, masked in accordance with COVID protocols, couldn’t help their eyes widening a bit. Maybe Skipper really does have some pull. Although it’s hard to imagine Ellie, Ramsey’s character, having any higher profile than she already does in the show. They would practically have to write out Joel, Pedro Pascal’s character. Maybe Pedro should invest in a box of treats.

It seems like the cameraperson shooting the set footage could have used a few Milk Bones herself, as Skipper started barking at her right after receiving some deferential scratches from Ramsey. “She hasn’t gotten the memo about being nicer and everything,” Mazin apologized for his “boss.” We are sure that, despite the interaction, Skipper is a good girl. Yes, she is. Yes, she is.

The Last of Us is currently streaming on HBO Max.
