Since it was announced, Blizzard’s incredibly popular dungeon-crawler, Diablo 3, has had a lot of console port rumors circling around it. Now there’s a new one, which began after a job listing was spotted, mentioning that its development team is looking for a new member. A “Senior Software Engineer, Console — PlayStation 3 Specialist,” to be exact.
“This position is responsible for overseeing Playstation 3 (PS3) architecture design,” the listing mentions, “as well as other PS3-specific game code development to maximize platform performance.”
Blizzard have openly stated that they’ve been investigating bringing the much-anticipated title to console owners hands, but have never confirmed anything. This job listing could be for speculation, investigation and testing, or they could really be working on a port for us PlayStation 3 owners. I certainly hope so, but I’m not going to hold my breath.
