Burning Man 2017 is set to be a landmark event for the iconic festival. The event organizers have already been busy buying up neighboring land with the intent to expand Black Rock City for next year, and now we have our first glimpse at a new art car that is set to land at the festival in 2017.

The event organizers acquired a Boeing 747 commercial airliner that has now been converted into an art car. The new installation has proven a truly remarkable feat for the festival with a hefty price tag. The cost of transforming a retired airplane into an expansive art car reaches well into the tens of thousands, if not more, as transporting the 15 ton jet requires roads to be shut down.

The 747’s interior has been converted into an upscale lounge and the 75 foot long installation is sure to make a splash on the playa when it debuts next year at Burning Man.
