Making good on their promise, Sony concluded their Gamescom 2012 press conference today with Call of Duty: Black Ops Declassified, giving us our first look at the highly anticipated shooter for the PlayStation Vita.

Developed by Nihilistic Software, Black Ops Declassified is an entirely different game from the upcoming Call of Duty: Black Ops 2. In traditional CoD fashion, it will consist of both a single-player campaign and several multiplayer modes, with the single-player portion of the game being a series of covert missions that “bridge the gap” between the first Black Ops and Black Ops 2.

The multiplayer portion of Black Ops Declassified will offer up to eight player matches over Wi-Fi (unsurprisingly, multiplayer over 3G does not seem to be in the cards) and will include familiar CoD elements like; Create-a-Class, Perks, and Prestige Levels. Not all of the multiplayer modes were revealed today, but Activision did confirm that the game will include 4v4 Team Deathmatch, Kill Confirmed, and Drop Zone.

Additionally, Nihilistic said that they plan to use the Vita’s unique features in the game. Citing touchscreen for melee attacks/grenades, and using Near technology to share loadouts with friends, as examples.

Call of Duty: Black Ops Declassified is due out for the PlayStation Vita this November. The game’s first trailer, which is more multiplayer focused, is embedded above. Make sure to keep your eyes peeled for the Nuke Town map from the original Black Ops, which is going to be seen as either good news or bad news depending on how many times you played it due to spam voting.
