The Epic Begins In Dark Days: The Forge #1

By now, you're no doubt aware of Scott Snyder and Greg Capullo's much publicized reunion that's set to commence later this summer in the form of Dark Nights: Metal. By now, you’re no doubt aware of Scott Snyder and Greg Capullo’s much publicized reunion that’s set to commence later this summer in the form of Dark Nights: Metal. But before we’re able to get there, we have a couple of stops to make with some prelude one-shots, the first of which is that of Dark Days: The Forge #1.

Being well aware of the fact that not everyone decides to invest in preludes and tie-ins, I’ve elected to remind those reading this of the creators DC has tasked for the offering, affirming that this is nothing to be skipped. Aside from being co-written by Snyder and James Tynion IV, art will be provided by the likes of Jim Lee, Andy Kubert and John Romita Jr. Now, do you think that all that A-list talent would be employed for a throwaway?

Speaking of which, the first lettered interiors have been made available to us, and can be viewed in the gallery at the top. Aside from immediately hammering home the point that Thanagarian Nth Metal will play a key role in this tale, it quickly becomes apparent that each of the aforementioned top shelf artists are putting forth their best effort. Our hope, however, is that their styles gel well; Lee and Kubert can easily tag each other in and out, but Romita’s visuals are a bit different from theirs, to say the least.

Dark Days: The Forge #1 arrives in comic shops on June 14. For more information, be sure to check out the official synopsis below:

DARKNESS COMES TO THE DC UNIVERSE WITH THE MYSTERY OF THE FORGE! Aquaman, The Flash and more of DC’s pantheon of heroes suspect Batman of hiding a dark secret that could threaten the very existence of the multiverse! It’s an epic that will span generations—but how does it connect to the origins of one of DC’s most legendary heroes?

The great comics event of summer 2017 is about to begin courtesy of superstar writers Scott Snyder and James Tynion III and illustrated by a master class of comics artists: Andy Kubert, Jim Lee and John Romita Jr.! You do not want to miss this one!
