There are few worse feelings than ordering yourself a big meal only to be left waiting hours for it to arrive or, worse, never arrive. Well, one hangry DoorDash customer in Florida discovered that his $50 order had been eaten by the receptionist at his building, so he decided to film himself confronting her.
The video, posted to TikTok by a self-proclaimed entrepreneur who goes by “technowceo,” starts mid-confrontation. The text on-screen reads, “POV: You catch the front desk lady eating the food you DoorDashed.” The man and woman discuss how she can pay the man back for his food, as she asks, “What’s your Cash App?”
Although she agreed to pay him back, the man couldn’t hide his disbelief that the woman would eat the DoorDash order without knowing whose it was. “I didn’t spend $50 on Mexican food to set you up,” he told her. While the lady at the front desk appeared apologetic, she argued back, telling the man, “I wasn’t expecting for somebody to wait two hours and walk in the break room saying that that’s their food either.”
The man claimed it didn’t matter how long the food had been waiting there, telling her, “But you ate somebody else’s food.” The two continued to go back and forth, with the woman responding, “I waited for a long time for somebody to come and pick it up.” The video eventually ended with the woman apologizing and the man providing her with a Cash App to pay him back.
Eating somebody else’s DoorDash order is too far
Opinions on TikTok were mixed. Some claimed that the woman was in the wrong and that she needed “to be reported and lose her job.” Others agreed, calling for her to be fired. In a second video posted by the man, the woman was heard saying she hadn’t eaten before her 11-hour shift, one commenter wrote, “she wrong but i feel bad.”
However, a few were a little more understanding: “I’m not gonna lie 2 hours I would have thought it went to the wrong address honestly,” wrote one person. “I mean 2 hours bro?” wrote another viewer, “Feel like both sides are right ngl.” A third also sympathized: “She assumed that it was never going to get picked up.”
Others argued that it didn’t matter how long the food was waiting; it didn’t give the woman the right to eat someone else’s food that she hadn’t paid for, dismissing the woman’s argument and claiming they wouldn’t have touched the food if it had been left there all night.
