A DoorDash customer says her driver left her pizza at a stranger’s house, then went silent when she tried to track it down. What began as a late-night order turned into a midnight search through her own neighborhood.
The woman, who posts on TikTok as Jojo, ordered Papa John‘s through DoorDash around 10 p.m. She wanted dinner for herself and her boyfriend. As the driver neared her gate, she sent him an entry code so he could get inside.
Minutes later, the app told her the order had arrived. The photo showed a house she did not recognize. “Not my front door, not my mat,” she said in her video. She called the driver to sort out the mix-up.

She says the driver answered at first and explained that the app allowed him to mark the order as delivered because it was “in the area of where it is.” She says he told her he would check where he left it, then hung up and stopped answering her calls.
She and her boyfriend split up and searched on foot. She said they spent close to 20 minutes checking houses for double doors and a white mat, details she remembered from the delivery photo. She was doing it without her glasses, and they found nothing.
DoorDash’s own customer guidance tells users who never receive an order to report it through the app under “Delivery Issues” and “Order never arrived.” From there, customers can follow the prompts to select a resolution or chat with an agent. DoorDash’s help page also says it investigates every order reported as never delivered to find the root cause. Other customers have had trouble simply getting to the food after a delivery, including a disabled DoorDash customer who said a driver left his order somewhere he could not retrieve it.
Around midnight, she reported the missing order through DoorDash support. She said the app showed her the delivery photo again and told her to “go here, try and look for it.” She searched the neighborhood again but still came up empty. DoorDash then told her it looked like the Dasher “tried to get a hold of you and couldn’t” and issued a $9 credit.
She pushed back, telling the rep she had already spent $36 on the pizza, cinnamon pull-apart, and delivery fees. Support added another $14 credit but still did not give her a full refund, she said. She ended up placing a second order so they could have dinner. She said the original order and the reorder came to roughly $60 combined. She left the driver a one-star review.
The comments quickly turned to what happened to the missing pizza. Some commenters speculated about where it ended up, though there is no evidence of what happened to it. Others questioned why the driver stopped responding after Jojo tried to locate the order, while some focused on DoorDash’s handling of the refund. One commenter claimed DoorDash “always refunds” once a missing order is confirmed, but Jojo says she received only partial credits.
DoorDash has not publicly addressed this specific case, and neither its account nor the driver’s could be verified. Jojo said she was left without the original order despite spending nearly two hours trying to track it down, and that the driver never responded to her follow-up calls or messages.
