LA woman receives random fedex delivery. Its contents instantly turn her life into a moral ‘test from God’

Glad she did the right thing.

A Los Angeles woman recently found herself facing a major moral dilemma after FedEx mistakenly dropped off a package at her door that contained an extremely valuable Rolex watch. Tay, who goes by @tayycorn online, immediately shared the shocking discovery in a viral video that quickly racked up over 90,000 views.

The footage shows a standard cardboard shipping box, but when she reveals the contents, you see the distinctive green-and-yellow box holding a silver Rolex timepiece. This is the kind of situation that truly tests your conscience, and Tay herself called the entire event a “test from God,” as found by Bro Bible.

We’ve all gotten a neighbor’s utility bill or an Amazon delivery meant for the next apartment, but a Rolex? That’s a whole different level of temptation. Tay didn’t hesitate, though. She clarified her decision in the caption, writing, “I can’t make this up loll (I returned it to fedex immediately).” I am glad she made the right choice in the end, and that the driver may have just made a mistake and not done something willfully wrong.

A Rolex isn’t generally something that should be shipped

Naturally, the video sparked immediate reactions from viewers who were split on what they would’ve done. Some praised her, agreeing with the commenter who wrote, “This is a test from god if I ever seen one and you passed.” Others admitted they wouldn’t have been so ethical. One top comment summed up the temptation perfectly: “U much better than me because HUH finders keepers.”

Interestingly, Tay’s decision to return the package wasn’t just the right ethical move; it was likely the legally required one. You might think keeping a misdelivered item is harmless, but that’s not the case. If a package is delivered by the U.S. Postal Service, keeping it can actually constitute federal mail theft, which is punishable by fines or up to five years in prison. While FedEx is a private carrier and doesn’t fall under federal mail theft statutes, keeping a package from them could still land you in trouble under state larceny laws.

In the future, if you get a package that isn’t yours, you shouldn’t open it at all. Instead, you should check the label to see if it belongs to a neighbor, or just contact the carrier directly to fix the error. I always check to see who it belongs to, and if I can, I’ll walk it to the correct home. However, Tay is probably used to getting expensive packages, as she seems to live a lifestyle where she has abundance, so this was likely an honest mistake.

When you realize just how much a Rolex can cost, the magnitude of Tay’s honesty becomes even clearer. These aren’t cheap timepieces, folks. According to Bob’s Watches, entry-level models like the Oyster Perpetual start around $5,500 to $6,400. Popular, mainstream models climb much higher, with the Submariner starting at $9,100, the GMT-Master II at $10,700, and the iconic stainless steel Daytona starting at $15,100.

If the watch was made from precious metals, the price jumps even more dramatically. A Day-Date Presidential starts at $38,500, and some limited-edition pieces can hit $75,000 or more. The really amazing thing about these watches is that they tend to hold their value or even appreciate over time. Basically, this could have been a felony because she would have knowingly opened and kept a package that was not hers.

Unlike most consumer goods that lose value the second you buy them, models like the Submariner, GMT-Master II, and Daytona often increase in worth, especially rare or vintage editions. Just look at the most expensive Rolex ever sold: actor Paul Newman’s Daytona, which fetched a staggering $17.8 million at auction.
