‘Loneliness does not come from having no people’: Orlando Bloom finally speaks up after Katy Perry split

Bloom finally speaks up.

Recent updates have revealed more about actor Orlando Bloom’s personal life after his breakup with his fiancée, Katy Perry. The news of their split, which happened after nearly ten years together, was followed by Bloom’s thoughtful social media posts, showing that he was reflecting on feelings of loneliness and sadness. His posts gave fans a look into his emotional state, sharing quotes from a famous psychotherapist.

As found by Page Six, the actor, best known for his major film roles, used his Instagram Stories to share a series of deep quotes. These were reposts of sayings by Swiss psychiatrist Carl Jung, originally posted by the Instagram account @SAPIENKIND. One quote said, “Loneliness does not come from having no people about one, but from being unable to communicate that seem important to oneself.”

Another quote said, “Even a happy life cannot be without a measure of darkness, and the word happy would lose its meaning if it were not balanced by sadness.” Bloom’s mysterious posts appeared about a week after reports confirmed that he and Perry had ended their relationship after a long time together.

Katy Perry was apparently understandably upset about the split but also relieved that she wouldn’t have to go through another divorce, something she had previously called the hardest time of her life. Bloom and Perry’s relationship had allegedly been under serious strain for months, suggesting their engagement had been heading toward an end for a while.

One of their biggest fights was apparently about Perry’s planned trip to space with Blue Origin. Bloom reportedly didn’t support the idea, leading to a major argument that added to the tension in their relationship. Shortly after news of their breakup went public, Bloom, now 48, traveled to Venice, Italy. His trip was specifically for the start of Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sánchez’s lavish $50 million wedding celebrations.

While in Venice, photos showed Bloom mingling with other celebrities (before and after booting others from a hotel). On June 26, he was seen hugging and briefly kissing Kim Kardashian, Khloé Kardashian, and Kris Jenner. Later that same day, he was spotted chatting with fellow divorcé Tom Brady on a water taxi, showing the two had a shared experience. Bloom ended his first day in Venice by attending a party with friends, part of the pre-wedding events hosted by the Amazon founder and the former journalist.

Meanwhile, Katy Perry, 40, was not at these high-profile wedding events. She couldn’t attend because of work—she was busy with the Australian part of her Lifetimes Tour. Her concert schedule kept her from joining the star-filled gathering in Venice, so she stayed focused on her music.
