Matthew Koma’s comeback is in full force ever since releasing his latest single, “Kisses Back.” The electropop jam was a breath of fresh air from the “Clarity” hit maker, and it was about time that he finally made an effort into getting his promising solo career back on track. Now, to add to the growing hype, Koma has dropped the music video for the new song to give us some eye candy for the ear candy.
Despite a decent amount of solo songs, this is only Koma’s second music video – the first being his amusement park-themed clip for his track, “One Night.” Luckily, the video for “Kisses Back” is just as good quality-wise, even if it takes a much different route as far as the concept goes.
Sporting trippy visuals and a retro hue throughout, Koma shares the spotlight as the star of the video, as he’s joined by some girls and someone in a creepy face-covered bodysuit. You won’t really have any idea what’s exactly going on, but that’s also part of its charm.
While “Kisses Back” is ready for radio and born to make an impact, it’s hard to tell whether it’s just a one-off track or if it’s acting as the lead single for a potential Matthew Koma album. Either way, we’ve gotten some pretty great remixes of it so far, including one by EDM producer Steve James. With the new video out now, we can’t wait to see what he’s got in store for us next.
