Popular streamer Vitaly is facing serious backlash and a potential lawsuit after a Catching Child Predators live stream in Santa Ana, California, went wrong. He falsely accused an innocent man, Akash Singhania, of being a child predator. It was a mistake he has since publicly admitted and apologized for.
According to Brobible, the incident happened during a live stream on KICK, where Vitaly’s decoy failed to tell Mr. Singhania she was underage. This led him to believe he was meeting an adult woman, which resulted in the false accusation. The consequences for Mr. Singhania were immediate and serious.
Vitaly, whose full name is Vitaly Zdorovetskiy, quickly issued a public apology. “My team and I mistakenly portrayed Akash Singhania as a child predator. This was a mistake that I deeply regret. He never intended to meet a minor and has been cleared of all wrongdoing,” he said. He confirmed he has removed the video from all his accounts and asked viewers to stop trying to contact Mr. Singhania.
Public accusations without proper verification can ruin innocent people’s lives
Mr. Singhania released his own statement on social media, saying the false accusation turned his life upside down and that he is looking into his legal options. “My world was turned upside down this weekend,” he wrote. He firmly denied the accusations, stating, “I was featured on a recent episode of Vitaly Zdorovetskiy’s live series, where I was wrongfully portrayed as someone attempting to engage in an inappropriate conduct.
Officers from the Santa Ana Police Department, who Mr. Singhania called to the scene himself, assessed the situation and confirmed his innocence. He thanked Officers Renald Galstian, Lorenzo Sanchez, and Joanna Hatziefstratiou for their professionalism and for carefully evaluating the situation. This accusation is completely false.” Cases like this are a grim reminder of how innocent California residents can have their lives destroyed in a matter of hours.
Despite Vitaly’s apology, Mr. Singhania made clear that the damage had already been done. “While I appreciate that the mistake has been acknowledged, the impact of the false accusation has been significant. I have experienced harassment, judgment, and damage to my personal and professional relationships based on something that has now been proven false,” he said.
As a result of the incident, Vitaly was banned from KICK. He also said he plans to take a break from predator-catching streams, stating, “I think we should take a break, do some regular IRLs in Miami, and chill for a bit.” He admitted the gravity of the situation, adding, “If you guys are asking if I’m cooked, I’m very cooked, yes.”
This is not the first time Vitaly has faced major legal trouble. In January 2026, he was deported to Russia after spending over nine months in a Philippine prison. According to Complex, his arrest followed a controversial livestream in the Philippines where he harassed locals, including a traffic officer, appeared to steal a patrol motorcycle, and played pranks on security guards.
On January 15, 2026, the Philippines’ Department of Interior and Local Government confirmed he had completed his sentence. Interior Secretary Jonvic Remulla said, “Let this be a reminder to all our visitors here in the Philippines that while we welcome tourists and treat them with respect, we also expect them to follow our laws, just as we do when we travel abroad.”
Remulla added, “We have no ill feelings against Vitaly. He has served his time, shown remorse, and is now a free man when he returns to Russia.” In other strange and troubling cases closer to home, a California woman who vanished after a domestic dispute was missing for eight years before the truth came out.
