In an announcement issued on Lee’s own Twitter account, the media production company laid out their plans as follows:

“We at Stan Lee’s POW! Entertainment are working on putting together a tribute befitting the greatest creator of our time and the father of modern pop culture. The grandeur of Stan makes this a monumental task, and we hope to have more info in the days to come.”

In the meantime, POW! gave true believers the option of contributing to a tribute wall featured on therealstanlee.com, encouraging followers to share “thoughts, prayers and messages of support” by using the hashtags #RIPStanLee, #StanLee, #Excelsior and #StanForever.

Of course, social media is already heavily flooded with comments from people remembering the man and expressing their gratitude for his unparalleled contributions to superhero history.

Among these messages are those from a whole host of familiar figures. Chris Hemsworth, for instance, took to Twitter with a message thanking Lee for “the incredible adventures your stories took all of us on.” His MCU co-star Chris Evans, meanwhile, praised the late publisher for how he “provided both young and old with adventure, escape, comfort, confidence, inspiration, strength, friendship and joy.” At the same time, Hugh Jackman has reflected on the energy and personality exuded by the man, calling him “a true gentleman that had this glint in his eye.”

It’s evident that Stan Lee made an impression on countless fans and associates, and though the writer may be gone, his influence on pop culture will no doubt remain for many years to come.
