Rebirth’s New Batman: 9 Possible Replacements For Bruce Wayne

Despite the dull conclusion to "The Button" in The Flash #22, the arc did leave us mulling the possibility that Bruce Wayne could be ready to hang up the cape and cowl after a conversation with his father in Batman #22. Now, don't pop a blood vessel here, because there's no chance that DC Comics will kill off its biggest cash cow for good. That's never going to happen. It's like Superman dying every couple of years; you know he'll always come back to life after some time. What we're likely to see is Bruce Wayne giving up being the Bat (temporarily), while someone else takes up the mantle.

There’s only one detective better than Bruce in the whole of DC Comics: Tim Drake. The only reason he hasn’t taken the mantle of the Bat before is because he’s been too young when the opportunity’s been presented. Now, however, it’s a different story.

After all that’s happened to him in Rebirth, it’s only a matter of time before he escapes Mr. Oz’s prison and finds his way back home. When he does, could it be that he trades in the Red Robin costume for the Bat’s? He wants to go away and study at Ivy University, but we all know that’s never going to happen in the comic book world.

There’s an army of Drakers begging for Tim to get a chance as the Caped Crusader, and now might be the best time. One thing’s for sure, though, if he doesn’t get it now, it’s only a matter of when not if. Tim will become Batman eventually, folks. Mark our words.
