Zelda Williams is once again calling on fans to stop circulating AI-generated content featuring her late father, Robin Williams, as a new, unconvincing video has begun to spread online. She took to X on Monday to address the situation, noting that the clip is clearly the result of artificial intelligence, Variety reports.
Zelda wrote the “supposedly ‘private video’” circulating of her father “is clearly AI, and not even particularly convincing AI,” in her statement. She added, “Anyone who claims to be a fan who believes it clearly listened to his movies on mute because that voice is robotic and terrible. That said, a human made a robot create it, and to you I say: leave him out of your delusional b—s— and let him rest. If you cannot make your case without making a dead man make it more convincing for you, then tell me: who’s the one manipulating the public thru media now?”
The actor, who starred in classics like Jumanji, Good Will Hunting, Dead Poets Society, Hook, and Mrs. Doubtfire, passed away in 2014 at the age of 63. Seeing his likeness used in this way feels like a total violation of his legacy, and Zelda is rightfully fed up with the trend.
In her post on X, Zelda expressed her frustration with the current state of online spaces
Zelda writes, “I hate this cesspool of an app. It’s mostly bots and people willingly being duped by bots at this point so not sure why I feel the need to come back to clarify, but I love him, so I will. Just because he’s gone does not mean he’s now your puppet. Have some shame.”
This is not the first time she has had to speak out about these AI recreations. Back in October 2025, she posted a clear request on Instagram, asking people to stop sending her augmented videos of her father.
At that time, she wrote, “Please, just stop sending me AI videos of Dad.” She further explained, “Stop believing I wanna see it or that I’ll understand, I don’t and I won’t. If you’re just trying to troll me, I’ve seen way worse, I’ll restrict and move on. But please, if you’ve got any decency, just stop doing this to him and to me, to everyone even, full stop. It’s dumb, it’s a waste of time and energy, and believe me, it’s NOT what he’d want.”
The family is clearly taking a stand to protect his memory. Just last month, Zelda and her siblings, Zak and Cody, revived their father’s Instagram account. They made it clear that their goal is to fight back against the rampant AI abuse of his voice and likeness appearing on the platform.
