Shirtless New Jersey man arrested after being caught allegedly ‘rubbing genitals’ on occupied car, e-bike escape thwarted

"He also attempted to bite our officers & EMT personnel."

A 27-year-old New Jersey man has been arrested after a strange series of events that saw him allegedly be caught rubbing his genitals against a parked car.

The incident took place at around 8:30 pm on Wednesday, July 15, on Essex Street in Rochelle Park. Rochelle Park Police Capt. James DePreta (via Daily Voice) says that patrol officers were summoned to the scene after receiving reports of “a shirtless man rubbing his genitals on an occupied vehicle.”

DePreta confirmed that a call came from within the vehicle, with the caller saying that a man was acting aggressively, erratically, and trying to enter the vehicle with them.

“Another job well done by our officers!”

Sgt. Brian Cobb and Officer Chris Kiszka arrived at the scene and observed the man, who was shirtless, wearing a motorcycle helmet, and apparently pleasuring himself by using the surface of the parked car as a frictive aid.

Cobb and Kiszka say that as soon as the man spotted the cops, he tried to flee, leaping aboard an e-bike in an attempt to escape the scene. They intervened, with Cobb grabbing hold of him and being “briefly dragged” by the bike. The suspect was then “subdued” and taken into custody.

The Rochelle Park Police Department billed this as a “job well done by our officers” and explained,

“Lee had jumped behind the counter of our local Wingstop, stole food, rubbed his genitals on a vehicle parked outside & attempted to get into another occupied vehicle before attempting to flee from our officers. After a brief foot pursuit, he was taken into custody & taken to the hospital for his injuries prior to processing. He also attempted to bite our officers & EMT personnel.”

The suspect was later identified as 27-year-old Tyler Lee, who was charged with burglary, attempted vehicle burglary, shoplifting, assault, aggravated assault on a public servant, and resisting arrest. He was imprisoned in the Bergen County Jail pending a court appearance. No information on bail, pleading, or a future court date was immediately available, and neither Lee or his legal representative have commented on the charges.

Things have been rather dramatic in New Jersey of late. A few weeks ago a fire rescue boat was sent to the seabed after a “massive” whale sank it (fortunately all on board were saved), there was a sulfuric acid attack in Jersey City that saw six injured, and a middle school somehow accidentally included a photograph of a young Adolf Hitler in their yearbook (the school said it was a “severe breach of our values”)
