A woman from the south of England pleaded guilty to three charges of assault after the court heard how she hit her husband and shoved her own feces in his mouth after the couple broke into an argument over an interaction they had had at a pub earlier in the day.
The incident occurred on August 20, in a home belonging to Alison Moore, 63, and her husband Rob Moore. According to Metro, Alison accused her husband of not standing up for her when she was refused service by pub staff. Alison called her husband “boring” before telling him, “You talk so much s–t, I’m going to make you eat it.”
Alison then reportedly shoved her own excrement into Rob’s mouth. Southampton Crown Court was shown a selfie that was taken by Rob before he washed his face and changed his clothing. The photo showed his face smeared with feces. Judge Gary Lucie told Alison that “the use of feces was a gratuitous degradation.”
Alison pleaded guilty to three charges of assault, with the other two being for hitting Rob while wearing a ring and for striking him with a broom handle. She was spared jail with a suspended sentence.
Before the incident
The court heard that, before the incident at the couple’s home, Rob and Alison Moore had spent the afternoon at a pub. They then stopped at another pub on the way home, where Alison was refused service by the staff. The couple then left the establishment. However, Prosecutor Andrew Coley told the court that Alison felt that her husband “had not stood up for her” at the pub.
Leading up to the incident, there was what was described as an “ongoing bad feeling.” Alison targeted her husband around 6 p.m. in what the judge described as a “premeditated” attack.
Defense barrister Rose Burns said that Alison “completely regrets” her actions and took “full blame” for her acts against her husband. She said that the behavior allegedly stemmed from a “perception of an imbalance in the relationship.”
Alison had also self-referred for private mental health care over her relationship with alcohol and depression following the death of her father and mother. Her sister also passed away this year, and she said she had also recently suffered the death of her uncle and her dog. “The whole situation drove her into a very deep depression. She felt trapped and frustrated with her life,” Burns said.
However, the defense barrister added that Alison “accepts no amount of poor behaviour by Mr Moore could justify her actions towards him.” She was said to now be living in an Airbnb. After she was handed her sentence, Alison reportedly left the courthouse with her husband.
