Woman confronts people in a park about their Spanish music, and threatens to call authorities: ‘This is the United States of America’

She was offended by the language

A clip shared on X captured a tense exchange in a park where a woman approached a group and objected to the Spanish music they were playing. Suzie Rizzio (@Suzierizzo1) posted the video, which has drawn tens of thousands of views, along with a caption that described the encounter.

According to the caption, the woman allegedly harassed a group of Hispanics who were playing music that was not loud. The caption stated that she told them this is America, that people speak English there, and that they should play American music.

The footage appeared to show the woman holding a blue cup and a plastic bag while standing in a grassy area. A man in a black T-shirt stood behind her, and the person filming repeatedly referred to her as Karen during the exchange.

The exchange as captured in the footage

In the video, the woman stated, “We speak English, we don’t hear- we don’t have to listen.” She then asked whether the person filming could speak Spanish and addressed him as Señor while appearing to threaten that authorities would come to shut his mouth.

The filmer responded by saying “Bye, Karen” multiple times and asking if she wanted to talk to the manager. The woman claimed that Mr. Trump would say “Thank you, thank you, thank you” and began to mention Republicans who love Donald Trump before asking if the filmer was drunk. Threats to involve police have surfaced in other viral “Karen” encounters, such as a Karen’s false hit-and-run accusation.

She continued by stating that they did not want to hear the music or the filmer and that all they wanted to do was fish. The woman insisted, “We can’t because all we hear is your godd–n f–king music,” and added that Americans fish with poles and should not have to hear that music while fishing.

The woman declared that they wanted silence for fishing and told the person recording, “If you want silence, go to your home and close your mouth.” She later said, “This is the United States of America and a United States of America must speak English, not this f–king c–p down where all these people are fishing and have to listen to your godd–n sh-t.”

She claimed she would call authorities so that the filmer would know who sent them when they arrived. The person filming asked, “Who?” as the woman turned and walked away across the grass, according to the video. Similar English-only demands have surfaced before, like when a Texas woman berated a Spanish-speaking employee.

Viewers who commented on the post shared various reactions to the footage. One commenter expressed strong disapproval of the woman shown in the video and wrote, “F–k that racist b–ch.” Another viewer described the scene as an example of white fragility and stated, “White fragility strikes again.”

A different commenter linked the encounter to broader political themes and wrote, “trump’s America.” One viewer focused on the woman’s behavior in the clip and said, “Some people are entitled a–holes.” Another commenter offered a short assessment of the situation and wrote, “This is America great again.”

A separate viewer responded to the confrontation by suggesting an alternative reaction and stated, “I would have blasted the music.” The comments reflected a range of responses to the video, with several people criticizing the woman and others framing the incident in political terms.
