A passenger on board a Delta Airlines flight has claimed that a flight attendant took a photo of her as she slept. Speaking on TikTok, the woman claimed that the attendant told her what he had allegedly done as she was exiting the plane. The woman said she has since spoken with Delta Airlines and the situation is being handled by the company.
TikToker Tasia Jewel said that she had been on a flight from Texas to Mexico City to see the Formula 1 when a flight attendant said something “super inappropriate.” She claimed that she had been tired during the flight, as she had been traveling a lot. “I slept for like an hour and a half,” she said. During that time, one of the flight attendants allegedly took a picture of her and later told her what he had done.
Tasia said that, as she was getting off the flight, one of the flight attendants behaved inappropriately towards her, allegedly saying, “Yo friend, I took a picture of you while you were sleeping.” They then allegedly threatened to post the picture online, telling her, “I might just post it on Facebook.” She also claimed that “the male flight attendants were laughing.” Tasia ended the video by calling for the flight attendant who spoke to her to be fired.
Delta Airlines policies on inappropriate behavior
According to Delta, the airline has a zero-tolerance policy towards discrimination, harassment, bullying, “or any other forms of intimidation.” An information document from the airline states that “Delta has an uncompromising policy against discrimination, harassment, bullying or intimidation of any customer, vendor or employee.”
The Delta website also encourages passengers to report harassment to the authorities. They can also contact Delta directly either through the airline’s direct messaging portal on the Fly Delta App, at the help center, or by calling 1-800-221-1212.
Tasia later updated her video description, where she said she submitted a claim: “But I know that sometimes those claims can take forever to get across someone’s desk.”
She later updated viewers on October 31, claiming that she had been in contact with Delta and said: “The airline is 100% on my side and everything is being handled as it should.” Tasia also commended the airline, saying, “Delta truly has handled this so well & this is why [I] choose to fly them! They take customer safety very seriously.”
Delta has not publicly addressed the situation, and it is not clear whether the flight attendant Tasia accused in her video has been fired from his job.
