‘Somebody has messed you up’: Woman realizes her doctor stitched her completely shut after giving birth, then did the same to her friend

She could have been permanently injured had she not noticed.

A woman made the horrifying discovery that her doctor had completely stitched up the entrance to her vagina after she had given birth. She shared the traumatic story on TikTok where she also revealed that the doctor who allegedly sewed her shut had done it again since.

The matter was first brought to the people of TikTok’s attention when a woman by the name of Jessmyn Flores gave her own take on the “preparing for the documentary” trend. In her video, the text explained that her doctor allegedly “sewed me completely up after having my baby.”

The comments were, understandably, filled with questions such as “how do you pee?” and “how did the lochia come out?” The video received 1.5 million views, and people on TikTok wanted more context; they wanted to know how such a mistake could be made, and they wanted to know what happened next.

Jessmyn returned the next day to give as many of the details as she could, describing the long and painful labor that preceded the incident. “I was in labor for 36 hours, and it was not my OB that I had originally had my whole pregnancy.” She claimed that it was a female, on-call doctor, and there were immediate red flags, such as the doctor refusing her request for a C-section.

After the pregancy Jessmyn noticed something was wrong

After she gave birth, the doctor sewed her back up, but Jessmyn claimed she didn’t immediately notice that something was wrong. Roughly three weeks later, she noticed that something was off: “I was having, like, a lot of pain.”

She claimed that when she felt down there, it felt “a little off.” However, she claimed she “didn’t want to look because I didn’t want… I just couldn’t do it.” Instead, she got her husband to check, and his description was highly concerning: “Girl, something is not right.”

Jessmyne went back to her doctors and was seen to by a nurse, who confirmed her fears, telling her, “Somebody has messed you up.” It soon became apparent that the doctor who had stitched up her vagina had completely sewn her shut, and the worst part was that, because it had been three weeks, it had now healed shut, meaning she would need more surgery to fix it.

Understandably, Jessmyne wanted to know how such a mistake had happened. She also discovered that it had happened more than once. “One of my friends actually had a baby right after me, and that was her doctor, the lady who did it. And she did the same thing to her.”

Viewers were shocked by her story, particularly the claim that it was a female doctor who had made the mistake. They noted how dangerous the mistake could have been, too: “That’s insane that you didn’t get sick from all the trapped blood,” wrote one person. Others advised suing over medical malpractice.

Some compared it to the controversial “husband’s stitch,” which is a medically unnecessary stitch that tightens the opening of the vagina. However, in this case, the doctor allegedly went even further by completely closing the opening.
