Stephen Miller spent 8 hours fighting a podcaster on X, and the final response that shut him down was brutal

President Trump‘s Deputy Chief of Staff, Stephen Miller, got into an eight-hour social media fight on X with podcast host Jon Favreau, and the way it ended was pretty brutal. The clash started after Trump’s State of the Union speech, when Miller posted on X to complain about Democrats refusing to stand when Trump asked them to show support for raids on “illegal aliens.”

According to The Daily Beast, Miller claimed that seeing seated Democrats “was a moment that chills to the bone and which will live for a thousand years.” That statement caught the attention of Jon Favreau, the 44-year-old host of “Pod Save America” and a former Obama speechwriter. Favreau quoted Miller’s post and added, “It’s genuinely so funny how hard they’re trying to make this a thing.”

That comment clearly got under Miller’s skin. At 1:00 PM on Wednesday, Miller, who is 40, fired back at Favreau, accusing Democrats of “icy contempt” and claiming they “vowed allegiance to invaders over citizens.” He called Favreau a “textbook sociopath” and posted, “Jon, one more time: do you grieve for these families?”

The exchange took a sharp turn when Favreau challenged Miller on his own government actions

Favreau didn’t back down. He responded, “No, I find you hilarious. And I genuinely hope the boss lets you drive the midterm strategy and brings more of your Victorian asylum patient energy into his speeches.” He then added, “I mean I certainly have sympathy for yours,” which was a direct jab at Miller’s family. Miller has been no stranger to public criticism, and Gavin Newsom’s press office calling Miller a fascist is one notable example of how polarizing he has become.

Miller kept pushing, calling Favreau a “top Democrat strategist” who “feels no sympathy for the American families whose loved ones were raped, tortured and murdered by foreign invaders,” and concluded, “His soul is broken.” But Favreau then shifted the focus of the argument entirely.

Favreau directly challenged Miller’s role as a government official, writing, “You’re a government official with the power to free countless American families and children who are suffering in the squalid detention centers where you’ve illegally jailed them. Why don’t you?” 

Miller responded by blaming President Biden for “the monsters… let into the country” and claimed, “there are no Americans in ICE detention, just illegals who can go home upon request.” Miller has also been vocal about other controversial positions, including his comments on annexing Greenland and why he believes the world won’t push back.

Then came the final blow. Favreau reminded Miller, “I already told you that I grieve for anyone who’s lost a loved one,” and then asked why the President hadn’t called the families of Alex Pretti or Renee Good to offer condolences. Pretti and Good were American citizens who were shot dead by federal agents in Minnesota during protests against ICE raids. 

Favreau pressed, “I’ll ask again: do you not grieve for the American citizens your agents killed?” Miller did not respond to that question. Instead, by 8:30 PM, he simply shared two MAGA-friendly posts, marking the end of an eight-hour exchange on social media.
