Pack your bags and call up your favorite listing agent, because Jason Oppenheim of Netflix’s hit reality real estate hit series, Selling Sunset, is spilling the deets on the exciting sixth season, and it’s going to get messy.
The word dramatic is synonymous with Selling Sunset; fans know that the inner-office disagreements can be rather juicy, but there have also been a lot of opportunities for growth where the agents’ working and personal relationships are concerned. It looks like some of those windows closed before they could even open, though, as some relationships failed before they could even begin.
Oppenheim spoke with People about, among other things, the drama surrounding the newest agent: Bre Tiesi.
“Most of the women have warmed up to her. Not everyone. There’s a lot going on right now on the drama front, to be honest. So we’re in repair mode. We’re trying to fix things because there’s a lot going on.”
We’ll have to wait until the new season begins to find out where the drama lies, but some of the ladies from the Oppenheim Group have been growing closer since Tiesi joined the group. Heather El Moussa was thrilled to have her join the agency, and some other realtors commented on the picture with positive vibes and love.
Another newer face at Oppenheim Group is that of Chelsea Lazkani, who joined the agency in 2021, and has brought a powerhouse attitude along with her. Exiting the group in early 2022 was Christine Quinn, who is pursuing other avenues with her husband, Christian Richard.
Christine’s presence at was a point of contention with many at the agency, and fans assumed that her departure might make for smoother sailing around the office. Oppenheim thought things might begin to turn a corner with the upcoming seasons, but it doesn’t appear to be panning out that way.
“I thought that things would get easier for me in season six and seven. I would argue that it’s been the opposite. I feel more pressure to handle some pretty difficult situations. It’s been a very taxing few months.”
Of course, it’s not just drama at the Oppenheim that’s been challenging; he’s shooting Selling Sunset while working on the newer spinoff, Selling the OC, and he’s been a busy man in his personal life, too. Oppenheim recently moved into a new condo in Los Angeles.
You can watch the first five seasons of Selling Sunset on Netflix now, and there’s no release date yet for season six.
