Thanos Kills The Marvel Universe In This First Look At U.S.Avengers #2

With Thanos set to take on a huge role in the Marvel Cinematic Universe over the next few years thanks to Avengers: Infinity War, the Mad Titan's presence in the comic books has been greatly increased as of late. That's both a good and bad thing, but the way the iconic villain was defeated in Civil War II definitely falls into the latter category.

The end of U.S.Avengers #1 teased an upcoming event called “Zero Day” revolving around Thanos, and this first look at issue #2 gives us an idea of what’s to come. The solicitation text below confirms that the supervillain will be responsible for the death of Captain America, and from the sounds of it, the rest of the Marvel Universe won’t fare much better, either. How exactly he’s so powerful isn’t clear, though he does seem to be wielding some sort of alternative to the Infinity Gauntlet which has supercharged his abilities.

More details will no doubt be revealed soon, starting with this issue when it goes on sale later this month, so be sure to stay tuned.
