‘That has to be illegal’: LA woman visits O’Reilly Auto Parts; the next day, she starts getting creepy calls and texts from one of the employees

She claimed the O'Reilly's worker searched for her in the system.

A woman has called out her local O’Reilly Auto Parts branch in Los Angeles after claiming an employee took her phone number and contacted her after she left the store. The woman said she barely interacted with the man and only gave her number to create an account with the store, but suspects he searched for her in the system after she left.

Carly Butler said she visited her local auto parts shop to get a new windshield wiper in preparation for the rainy weather in LA. However, she claimed that an employee at the store took her number to contact her later and shoot his shot.

According to Carly, she gave all the required car details so that the worker could look up what kind of wiper she would need for her car and fit it. However, after purchasing the wiper, it became apparent that it was the wrong size, meaning she would have to exchange it. She was then informed she would have to create an account with O’Reilly Auto Parts in order to exchange, this involved giving her number to the worker, something Carly claimed she wouldn’t normally do.

After getting the correct wiper installed, she left the store and likely assumed that was the end of that, but unfortunately she was wrong.

The O’Reilly Auto Parts worker allegedly took her number

After leaving the store, Carly began getting calls from an unknown number, which she said she initially ignored. She then received a text that said, “Hey Carly, how’s it going?” She then received another phone call from the mystery number, which she answered: “I pick up, he’s like, ‘Hey, Carly, it’s Daniel. We met a few days ago.’”

Carly said she “freaked out” and quickly hung up, only to receive another text from Daniel in which he told her, “I thought we could get to know each other.” When she asked who he was, he allegedly fessed up, telling her he was the worker from O’Reilly’s. “This guy went into the f—ing system [and] looked up my phone number so he could text me,” Carly claimed, adding, “that has to be illegal.”

Viewers also expressed concern for Carly, especially considering the man also took her license plate. “Liscene [sic] plate IMMEDIATELY put up a red flag. that’s terrifying,” wrote one commenter. Another speculated that the O’Reilly’s worker may have purposefully put the wrong wiper blades on her car so that she would have to exchange them and put her phone number into the system.

Many agreed that the employee’s behavior was creepy, with some saying it was yet another example of inappropriate behavior from men that women had to put up with.
